It’s the middle of the week and today while reading the paper it hit me that herpes treatments are getting much cheaper as more and more generic companies are coming out and churning out cheaper drugs that can compete head to head with brand name herpes treatments like Valtrex and Acyclovir. I’m afraid however, that in the search for a cure for herpes, the herpes cure itself will be quite pricey. It’s an incredibly lucrative market with millions of people that are trying to look for relief from an incurable disease. The over the counter treatments available from most manufacturers work very well in killing the symptoms when they appear but it does not end the disease once and for all. What can we do? Where can we get cheap herpes treatments? What is there to do for herpes symptoms? Somehow we will have to figure this all out as we watch research unfold before our very eyes. We’ve been checking the medical journals for news on herpes research and there seems to be a lot coming out every month or two but without a clear direction towards a final cure. So what am I getting at? We’ll have to continue to live with the current herpes treatments, be it from over the counter herpes treatments or from topical creams or from antivirals.
