Help I have cold sores on my mouth!

I have a new boyfriend and after a week of being together, I seem to be having sores on my lips! Could this be herpes!! My boyfriend denies having it and he didn’t seem to have any of these sores when we hooked up, or ever. What should I do??

Answer:

It’s hard to tell if you have herpes just by looking. Yes, the cold sores are a strong indication that you might have herpes but it’s a good idea to go to a doctor so you can have it examined. What’s harder is to know if your boyfriend is telling the truth. It’s possible to get herpes from an infected person despite the fact that they display no symptoms.
